We are committed to good corporate governance and ensuring accountability at all levels of our company. We have established a sustainability-related organizational structure that includes oversight of our activities by the highest governance body, our Board of Directors.
Good corporate governance is essential for us as a global company. In addition to what is described in the Corporate Governance section of this site (Rain Carbon Inc – Corporate Governance) we have established a sustainability-related organizational structure.
A Sustainability Steering Committee (SSC) is established at the level of our parent company, Rain Industries Limited (RIL), which oversees the sustainability activities of Rain Carbon Inc. as well as our sister company, Rain Cements Ltd. The SSC is overseen by the Board of Directors of RIL, however, for Rain Carbon Inc.-specific topics, Rain Carbon Inc.’s own Board of Directors will also be involved.
The role of the SSC is to ensure cohesive and systematic global management of the development and execution of Rain Carbon’s sustainability strategy. It approves the overall corporate direction and messaging, and defines and monitors the company’s sustainability strategy, roadmap and targets. The SSC is also responsible for reviewing and approving Rain Carbon’s sustainability reporting program and the selection of the material topics.

Sustainability Steering Committee (SSC)
The SSC has overall responsibility for sustainability at Rain Carbon Inc. and is overseen by the Board of Directors and by Rain Carbon's Chief Executive Officer and President. The SSC approves major directions for corporate positioning and defines and monitors the sustainability strategy, roadmap and targets for Rain Carbon.
Sustainability Core Team (SCT)
The SCT is a cross-divisional and cross-regional team supporting the Sustainability Community (SC – see below) to drive the implementation of sustainability related decisions and initiatives. The SCT defines strategic and roadmap proposals as well as concepts and tools for implementing sustainability activities. The SCT connects with key collaborators across the company and the SC to coordinate the implementation of approved sustainability initiatives and performance measures.
Sustainability Community (SC)
Our Sustainability Community comprises Rain Carbon technical experts and site representatives who support in the annual collection of sustainability data. The company also envisions participation by representatives from the communities where we operate on cross-functional task forces.
