Sustainability Ratings and Certifications

Our voluntary participation in sustainability ratings and certification efforts underlines our commitment. Sustainability ratings enable us to highlight our performance related to environmental, social and governance issues based on independent evaluations.

Ecovadis Sustainability Rating

EcoVadis provides companies with holistic sustainability ratings using an evidence-based, online platform. The EcoVadis rating covers a broad range of non-financial management systems including environmental, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

CDP Climate Change

CDP is a global non-profit organization that uses standardized questionnaires to annually collect data on greenhouse gas emissions, climate risks as well as companies’ reduction targets and strategies. Fully aligned with the Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD), CDP holds the largest environmental database in the world, and CDP scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions towards a zero carbon, sustainable and resilient economy. In 2023, Rain Carbon’s operations in Germany attained a C score (awareness-level engagement). The awareness score measures the comprehensiveness of a company’s evaluation of how environmental issues intersect with its business, and how its operations affect people and ecosystems.

IntegrityNext

IntegrityNext helps companies build more transparent and sustainable supply chains to meet the demands of an economy undergoing rapid change and fundamental transformation. Rain Carbon’s operations in Germany and Canada have gone through the IntegrityNext self-assessment and are working to communicate our efforts to develop a more sustainable supply chain to our customers.

ISCC PLUS

ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) is a recognized organization that certifies bio-based and recycled feedstocks across the entire value chain, from source to end-product. Our two German sites have an ISCC PLUS certification, enabling Rain Carbon to market several products from our advanced material business under the NOVARES ECO^® label (100% ISCC PLUS compliant - based on mass allocation).

United Nations (UN) Global Compact

Rain Carbon is an active participant of the UN Global Compact, a voluntary and world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It is based on company commitments to implement universal sustainability principles and to advance UN goals such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
