Resource-Efficient Business Model

We strive for high levels of resource efficiency and circularity in our processes to avoid the unnecessary consumption of finite resources. With our activities, we help to avoid waste and additional emissions in upstream and downstream industries.

Our business model is driven by resource efficiency as it is primarily based on the upcycling of by-products from other industries.

We upcycle feedstocks with high carbon content like green petroleum coke (GPC), pyrolysis fuel oil (PFO), tars and renewable/recycled feedstocks into value-added productive materials. Through the upcycling of by-products from the steel and petrochemical industries, we enable higher circularity levels in downstream applications, like aluminium production and steel recycling. This also avoids the incineration of those industrial by-products for energy generation with the associated emissions or their disposal in landfills. Additionally, we avoid emissions through the efficient use of raw materials, as well as utilizing excess energy from our production processes to generate clean electricity or steam without additional emissions.

In our advanced materials business, we also have started to incorporate certified renewable and recycled raw materials into our products.
